Project Overview

Employee Onboarding eLearning Module (Concept Project)

Designed and developed a concise onboarding eLearning module to support new employee orientation and accelerate knowledge acquisition of essential organizational information. Created instructional content and learning objectives, leveraging AI-assisted tools to support script development and content refinement.

Produced and edited onboarding video content, generated professional voiceover narration using ElevenLabs, and developed an interactive learning experience in Articulate 360. Incorporated knowledge checks and a short assessment to reinforce key concepts, measure learner comprehension, and support onboarding effectiveness.

Design Process

This module is designed for new hires across multiple departments who need to quickly understand key onboarding information and expectations.
It provides a clear, structured introduction to essential processes and workplace expectations, supporting employees in confidently applying foundational knowledge in their day-to-day roles.
1. Analyze
  Identified the need for a concise and engaging onboarding experience to communicate essential information to new hires.
2. Design
  Developed a structured outline to guide the learning flow, including key content for the onboarding video and a brief Articulate 360 module with a knowledge check.
3. Develop
  Used AI to assist with script development and edited the onboarding video content.
  Produced the voiceover using Eleven Labs for clear, professional narration.
  Built a short Articulate 360 module featuring an informational overview and quiz to reinforce key concepts.
4. Evaluate
  Reviewed the module for clarity, usability, and alignment with onboarding goals.
  Refined content, pacing, and assessment elements to improve the overall learning experience.

Problem

New employees often encounter information overload during onboarding, which can hinder retention and clarity around role expectations. Many traditional onboarding programs rely on passive, text-heavy materials that fail to engage learners or support long-term knowledge retention.

To address this, I designed a streamlined onboarding experience combining video instruction with an interactive Articulate 360 module. The video delivers key information in an engaging format, while the module reinforces learning through a structured overview and knowledge check.

This onboarding course, developed in Articulate 360, uses scenario-based quiz questions with targeted feedback to reinforce key concepts. Each interaction supports applied decision-making and guides learners toward accurate, safe actions, ensuring alignment with learning objectives and outcomes.
